How to Enter

1. Choose your test
Select the dressage or jumping test you would like to ride from the available HorseWyse Virtual Competition options.

2. Film your test
Record your full test in one continuous video from start to finish. The video must clearly show the horse, rider and arena movements.

3. Upload your video
Upload your video to our link on the entry form

4. Complete the entry form
Fill out the HorseWyse Virtual Competition entry form and include:

  • Rider name

  • Rider age group

  • Test entered

  • Contact email

5. Submit your entry before the closing date
Entries must be submitted by the date listed on the entry countdown timer. Late entries may not be accepted.

 

Filming Guidelines

To help our judges mark your test fairly, please follow these filming rules:

  • The test must be filmed in one continuous take.

  • The camera should be positioned at C, unless otherwise advised.

  • The horse and rider must remain visible throughout the test.

  • The sound should be clear enough for the judge to hear the caller, if a caller is used.

  • No editing, cutting, speeding up or slowing down the video is permitted.

  • The test must be ridden in a safe, enclosed area.

  • Riders must wear an approved and suitable footwear.

  • Standard dressage / jumping attire is encouraged but not compulsory.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded as follows:

1st Place: Rosette
2nd Place: Ribbon
3rd Place: Ribbon

Only first place will receive a rosette. Second and third place winners will receive ribbons only.

Results may also be featured on HorseWyse Magazine’s website, social media channels and/or in HorseWyse Magazine.

Terms & Conditions

By entering the HorseWyse Virtual Competition, entrants agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Eligibility

The competition is open to riders who submit a complete entry form, payment if required, and a valid video link before the closing date. Riders under 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian to enter.

2. Safety

Riders enter at their own risk. HorseWyse Magazine accepts no responsibility for injury, loss, accident, damage or incident that may occur while preparing for, filming or participating in the competition.

All riders must wear an approved riding helmet and use safe, suitable equipment. Horses and ponies must be fit, sound and safely managed.

 

3. Video Requirements

Videos must show the full test in one continuous recording. Edited videos, unclear videos or videos where the judge cannot properly view the test may be disqualified or marked at the judge’s discretion.

4. Judging

All judging decisions are final. Scores and placings are determined by the appointed judge and no correspondence will be entered into regarding final placings.

5. Horse Welfare

Horse welfare must always come first. Entries may be refused or disqualified if the horse or pony appears unsound, distressed, overworked, unsafe or treated unfairly.

6. Entries and Closing Date

Entries must be received by the advertised closing date. Late, incomplete or incorrect entries may not be accepted.

7. Prizes

Prizes are awarded to first, second and third place only. First place will receive a rosette and prize pack. Second and third place will receive ribbons only. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash.

8. Media Permission

By entering, competitors give HorseWyse Magazine permission to use submitted photos, video screenshots, rider names, horse names, results and entry details for promotional purposes, including on social media, the HorseWyse website and in HorseWyse Magazine.

9. Parent/Guardian Consent

For riders under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian must complete or approve the entry. Parent/guardian consent confirms permission for the rider to participate and for HorseWyse to use submitted media as outlined above.

10. Code of Conduct

All entrants, parents, guardians and supporters are expected to behave respectfully online and toward judges, organisers and other competitors. HorseWyse reserves the right to remove or disqualify any entrant for poor sportsmanship, inappropriate behaviour or abusive communication.

11. Changes or Cancellation

HorseWyse Magazine reserves the right to amend, postpone or cancel the competition if necessary.
